Chinese Restaurant

This is a project that started in the first module of my MA Game Art course at Escape Studios, we were given a brief to create a top-down environment level that works on mobile - lowpoly, under 300k tris. (My project tri count: 270k).

If made into a workable game, the game pitch would be: Set in modern-day England, it's a top-down RPG where you play as someone working their way to run the Chinese restaurant passed down from their parents who moved to make a living in the UK while working to understand them and yourself.

I thought the idea would be interesting to bring out some stories of British-born-Chinese children, growing up with their family running a business in the UK and understanding some of the struggles they might have faced.
I found it a really enjoyable project, being able to also bring in my Chinese heritage and creating something that I was able to relate to.
